YES! You
Can Have A Cheap Las Vegas Vacation And Take the Whole
Family!
Ever since I was knee high to a
grasshopper, Sin City has thrilled me. In fact, when I was really
young, I used to think of Las Vegas as the “back to front”
city, meaning that everything seemed to come alive at night time,
and if you were going to sleep, you did it during the day.
I’ll give you a little background, so
you can see how I was FORCED to find cheap tips if I
was ever going to have any chance of getting there.
The first time we went there, we were
planning our “once in a lifetime” family vacation. Five weeks in the States,
(well the west coast anyway) – a dream come true for a little old
family from New
Zealand, thousands of miles away
from the Big Smoke.
In our family unit, there’s my
husband, my 21 year old daughter, my 17 year old son, my 9 year old
son, and myself. The age gap alone creates a challenge for a family
vacation, but my middle son is also in a wheelchair…..another
challenge. We had to
make sure that, during our vacation:
1)
we could cram in as much as possible in
that time, without maxing out the credit cards (you’ve still gotta
pay it back, right?)
2)
we did things that ALL the family
would enjoy
So that was the first trip.
On our second Las Vegas
vacation, it was just my husband and I. It was our 25th
wedding anniversary, and a really big deal as we’d never left the
kids for any great length of time before. But this was a
special occasion - I had arranged to
renew our wedding vows while we were there.
Sure, there were hassles, real curly
ones! In fact one of
the biggies was that our caregiver, at the last minute, couldn’t
come! The caregiver who
did end up coming was someone I’d never met before.
That doesn’t do a lot for a mother’s
confidence, especially with a disabled child. But despite my fears, we
decided we’d still go.
We were just about to board the plane,
when ....
THE BIG BOMBSHELL HIT!
After 15 years, the company that my
husband worked for was closing it’s doors. He had no job when we got
back.
And here we were, traveling to the
other side of the world for a vacation at (what was always believed
to be) one of the most expensive cities in the world!
Man, you've no idea how pleased I was
that I'd done some research before we went! This was one of the
best Las Vegas resources I found. Talk about
having almost everything in one place!
